The area of Robusta coffee beans in Vietnam is concentrated on the Central Highlands including Cau Dat, Lam Dong, DakLak and Dak Nong provinces etc.. Especially, the capital city of DakLak province, Buon Ma Thuot City, has contributed a major of Robusta coffee to Vietnamese coffee industry to become world’s 2nd Robusta coffee exporter.
Approximately 80% of Robusta in the total coffee plantation, with the exporting volume of about 2 million tons yearly, Robusta coffee is commonly used for blending with Arabica, or extracting instant coffees.
The most common processing method applying to Robusta coffee is the drying method, coffee cherries are dried under the sunlight, or can be used machinery.
